Irish Foster Care Association – New Counselling Service for Members
IFCA is delighted to announce the launch of its new counselling service for foster carers who are members of IFCA.
IFCA recognises the need to support foster carers who have had the experience of an allegation of abuse or complaints made against them, who have been involved in complex fostering experiences which have contributed to unplanned placement endings, or who have found that the experience of fostering has placed stress on them in their lives.
This new service will be an important addition to our current range of supports offered through the National Helpline and National Advocacy Service.
Referrals to the service will be made from the National Advocacy Service to our qualified and experienced counsellor, Dee Finucane, with the consent of foster carers. The service is free of charge and confidential.
