South Tipp Screening of Resilience

Jun 13th 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

IFCA South Tipperary Branch

in association with Tusla & Irish Attachment in Action

Invites you to a screening of the film Resilience

Thursday 13th June 2019

Ferryhouse, Clonmel, Tipperary

The highly acclaimed documentary, Resilience, explores the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) on the developing child and into adulthood.  ACES are potentially traumatic events ranging from abuse, neglect and household dysfunction which can have a significant impact on the long term health and wellbeing of the young people we care for.  The stress of these childhood experiences can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brain and bodies of children, putting them at a greater risk for disease, homelessness, prison time, and early death. The film is an hour in length and will be followed by a Q&A with panellists including: an experienced local Foster Carer, Joe Nolan (Social Care Manager, Edan Social Care Support Service to Foster Carers) and Mairead Morrissey (Social Care Manager, St. Bernard’s Children’s Service).

Please join us for an evening of information sharing and discussion on this hugely important topic.

RSVP to Sandra Parker, Branch Secretary, at 086 203 6461 by Monday 10th June 2019 to confirm your place.
